Help Us End Violence Against Women

November is Woman Abuse Prevention Month. The purple scarf is a symbol of the courage it takes a woman to leave her abuser. However, the courage of a woman is not enough. It takes the support of an entire community to end violence against women.

November 25th is The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. On this day, Interval House of Hamilton and many shelters and communities across Ontario will raise a Wrapped in Courage flag. Proclamations will also be declared, all as a signal of our commitment to end gender-based violence in our communities and to ensure survivors know they are not alone.

Woman Abuse Working Group (WAWG) will be hosting a Wrapped in Courage flag raising event out front of Hamilton City Hall. The event will take place November 25th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. for all those who would you would like to attend.
