MentorAction is a group of male leaders who stand up and speak out in ending gender-based violence. For many years violence and abuse towards woman has been seen as  a woman's issue. Violence against women is a societal issue that we all need to have a united voice on.

Since 2011 MentorAction has been raising awareness about the role men play in gendered violence and working to come up with strategies to redefine masculinity and make Hamilton and safer place.

In 2016 Interval House of Hamilton Purchased the rights of Be More Than A Bystander and brought this program to Hamilton through MentorAction. The Be More Than a Bystander campaign was created by the Ending Violence Association BC in partnership with the BC Lions. MentorAction partnered with the Hamilton Bulldogs, McMaster University Athletics, and The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and now Be More Than a Bystander is in our community. Through public service announcements, billboards, school programs, and sports programs we are re-educating our community.

The Vision and Mission of MentorAction (A program of Interval House of Hamilton)

Vision: To make Hamilton a safer place by eliminating all forms of violence.

Mission: To engage men as leaders in the campaign to end gender-based violence through the implementation of communication and mentorship strategies.

If your business would like to get involved or your school or group would like to receive our program email info@intervalhousehamilton.org
