Interval House of Hamilton has joined the community of charities, financial advisors, and lawyers as a founding Will Power partner.  Will Power is a new program founded by the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP).

Will Power encompasses a Canada-wide multi-platform social media campaign to encourage Canadians to consider a gift in their Will and motivates them to act.

The bilingual campaign will launch in September 2021 in communities across Canada.

Said Nancy Smith, Executive Director, Interval House of Hamilton, “The need for women’s shelters and women’s services in our communities has grown exponentially with the pandemic lockdowns and funding cannot keep pace.  Becoming a Will Power founding partner creates exciting new funding opportunities for Interval House of Hamilton through the power of estate giving.  We are excited about this incredible opportunity and look forward to the campaign launch in September 2021.”

About Interval House of Hamilton

Interval House of Hamilton (IHOH) opened its doors in 1986 as a non-profit organization. The emergency shelter serves women, 16 years and older, with or without children who have experienced abuse, violence,  or human trafficking. Through community programs Women’s Centre Hamilton, Jared’s Place and Flamborough Women’s Resource Centre they provide counselling and legal advocacy, system navigation, outreach,  and housing supports. Committed to a gender intersectional and inclusive evidence-based analysis, IHOH believes in including the voices and experiences of the women they serve, the community and their stakeholders in how they design, improve, and deliver services and advocacy. In 2013, they welcomed MentorAction, a group of male leaders who have aligned with us in standing up and speaking out about ending gender-based violence.
